He asks if the spirits of the dead are interested in his music, and he wonders why they call this "witching hour." He also asks if thunderbolt told him the truth, and if it was a dream. He wonders if he should get away from the band so that he can decide what to do with himself. The narrator says that it is not his fault that they are waiting for him, but that he was happy to meet them like this. He realizes that crimson will never wake from his coma.
