In this chapter, we learn that the house is being threatened by a highway, which will pass through the site. The owner of the house, Nestor, explains that he and his family have lived in the house for ten generations, and now their existence is threatened. He uses a blue chalk to cross the house with a spirit's blood, but the spirit cannot enter or leave the house.
