About This Chapter
In this chapter, we learn that the spirit of Tomalma has come to the prophet's house, and that the prophet is now able to speak to the spirits of the dead. He tells the spirits that they will never be able to capture twelve of them at the same time, because most of them think the prophet and his companions are a myth. The prophet then tells the ghosts that they have caught a "hot one" , but that he is not their boyfriend. He also tells them that they must be really hungry, because they have not had enough to eat. He then tells them to go see Aunt Nancy, who has just opened a new community house. He says that the new house is great, and he is sorry that the old one had to be destroyed because of him. He asks the ghosts to dance with him, and then he says that if the mountain does not come willingly to him, he will have to "give it a push" .
