In this chapter, izabella asks the uncle of her family, jamie, if his daughter, katie, is shy. He says that she is, and that he is trying to do his best for her. He tells her that he always tells her mistakes are how she learns, and he says that he has his wife by his side, too, to help him deal with his tantrums. The uncle says that there are only two ways to deal with tantrums: either cave in and wait it out, or wait and let it go. He also says that aliyah is his first and he is always learning something new every day. He adds that it helps that his wife is with him, too. . jamie asks how he walks in the shoes of the monkey bars, and the uncle says he was scared to do so, but that he was able to keep it fun because he had aliyah's help. He then says that if the boys ever come to the area, he will give them his number, so that they can play with the girls whenever they are free. He apologizes for not being able to see them more often, but says that they are good people, and if they find out they are associated with him they would be in grave danger.
