In this chapter, Isabella continues her story of how she escaped from her parents' house. She tells the boy that he is welcome to come with her to the "bxrber" , but that he must first give her a reason to stay. She says that she will keep him safe if anyone finds out about him, and that if he does, he will be "as good as dead"
