This chapter opens with a flashback to the events of the previous chapter. It's the day of the "awakening" of the baby, and the baby's father, Uncle lin, is in the middle of the process of awakening his son. He's worried that his son is going to die if he doesn't wake up soon. He tells his son that he'll help him, but that he can't do anything for his son because he's half-yu, or impure, with blood from the baby. Worried that his blood isn't strong enough to help his son, lin tells him to get out of the room. He also tells the baby to remember to repay him in the future, since he helped him today.
