In this chapter, we learn that King Tut is in the hospital. He's upset because he's had a fight with a guy named Diomedes, who's a "hoodlum" and a "petty bastard" . King Tut tells us that he was so upset that he passed out during the fight. Diomedeses name is "Dion" , and King Tut has known him since they were in school together. He says that they've known each other for a long time, but that he just crossed the line and punched King Tut in the head. He tells us he was worried about the kid's health, so he took the kid to the hospital, where he was injured. He hopes Diomedeas will be punished for his actions. The specter is a part of human nature, King Tut says. It's just like a human's heart, he says, and no one can escape it.
