In this chapter, the Governess shows her guests around the mansion. She tells them that the house is a literary heaven and that it is her dream to live in it. She shows them around a private bedroom and a private bathroom. She says that she is worried about her moral and mental health and that she wants to know about the house so that she can take an action to save one of the family members. The Governess thanks the family for sparing her the effort of calling on them.
