About This Chapter
The next morning, the narrator wakes up and asks if he fell asleep. He says that he did, but that he doesn't remember what happened after that. He's not sure if he's dreaming or falling asleep, but he does know that something is wrong with him. He wants to know what's going on. He asks if the narrator is enjoying his favorite meal, and the narrator says that's okay, but then he asks if there's anything wrong with his ability to control his emotions. The narrator asks if this is an indecent thing to say, and he says that it is. He then says that the power of his ability can be used as a divider, like a wall, and that he needs to think of him as an enemy. He tells the narrator to come at him, because he won't concede a defeat, and then he says he'll shoot at the narrator if he tries to kill him. This is like suicide, he says, and it's the same as using your ability as a weapon to kill yourself.
