The chapter opens with a flashback to the night of the bonfire party. The narrator tells the audience that he and the others were forced to leave the party because they felt uncomfortable. He tells them that the doctor told him that the guests had bruises on their bodies. He also tells them not to embarrass themselves too much in front of the guests. He then tells them to pull themselves together and run away from the bonfire. He says that he heard that place was like hell and that someone was taking care of the wounded guest. He goes on to say that he still does not know much about the wounded man and that he will try his best to protect his motherland after they get married. He asks if he means pearl spring and says that if that were the case, it would influence the entire continent. He adds that he was afraid of trouble but that he is not afraid of risk. He explains that he did not even know about the engagement until he learned about it at the banquet in the golden city. He feels that he tried to trick him with the engagement but that it seems not to be true. He wonders if he should push him away if he does not like him. He thinks that step stepping on him does not count and that time is up and that after he solves the problem of the wedding, he will get married
