In this chapter, Roxane tries to convince Roxane that she's not lying to her. She's been living in the south for 17 years, and her mother has told her that she has come to the south on her own. Roxane says that she knows it's hard for her to lie to her mother, but at least she has the opportunity to tell Roxane what's going on. She tells him that the ball is coming up, and that the guests are going to share the opening dance. She says that if the guests don't show up, she thinks that rin is going to invite her to the ball, and then she'll have to wait for the guests to show up. She also says that Roxane looks stunning tonight, but that if she tried to please him, he wouldn't be able to give her what she wanted. He's suspicious of her, she says, and he's just testing her to see if she can do what he wants. She doesn't care what happens after the dance, though, because she knows that after the ball there's "a little trouble" over in South America.
