The narrator tells us that he's not really his dad. He's just like everyone else. He says that it's "shizu's day" , which means that she's asking him to do something for her. He doesn't know what it is, but he does know that he needs to save up some money for the summer. He also says that he almost beat Mirei in body building. Mirei is a crazy ghost who can't organize her life. She's always sleeping or staring into space. The narrator says that there's one thing he knows she does not like, though, and that's the fact that she likes something. He adds that he has been reading some books and is afraid that they might give him a clue. He asks if he can see her, and she agrees to work with him.
