She says she has, but that she cannot eat all of the candied sweet potatoes that she has prepared for them. The narrator says she gave them to him as an apology, and he asks if he can take them if he does not mind. He says he cannot do anything that would worry him, but he is his friend, so he can do whatever he wants. He asks if there is a way to see her face, and she says there is. He tells her to hang up the phone and he will try it.
