The chapter opens with a soliloquy by the Governess, who is basking in the heat of the day and eating with her in the evening. The Governess tells the audience that she and her husband have not returned to the realm of gods for a long time, but that she hopes to do so in the near future. She also tells us that she heard that Cai Ming gave birth to a baby again, and she hopes that it will be a boy. She says that she loves her granddaughter, and that she will deal with the child later. She tells the listeners that she still thinks that life on the Douluo Continent is better than on the mainland, but she says that it's better to visit the realm once in awhile to see what new things are up. She asks the audience if something has happened to the gods realm, and the narrator tells her that she can still sense the enormous impact that something has had on the god realm even when they're on the continent. He says that he can't believe that something could have happened, because Cai Ming is the ruler of god realm now, and he'll get through whatever it is that has happened.
