This chapter's epigraph comes from the opening lines of the book's second chapter, "Whoosh Per te to te" . In this chapter, we find out that the psychic power of the universe has been lost, and that the universe is about to go through a "time-trifling" event. In other words, we're about to see the end of the world as we know it, and the beginning of the creation of new worlds. This is a big deal, because it's the first time that we've ever seen the world go through this kind of thing, and we don't really know what's going to happen to the universe in the future. We're not sure how long it will take for the universe to recover its lost psychic power, but we do know that it'll be a long time before the universe returns to its normal state of being.
