About This Chapter
Back in the present, a group of young people are sitting in front of a big screen engrossed in a popular historical drama. They're thinking about how nice it would be if they could go back in time and travel back to a time when things were different. The narrator tells us that the city where they're staying is about to host a bunch of guests from the past year. The guests will be arriving soon, and the group is eager to meet them. The group's tour guide, a former chief inspector, tells the group that he's been doing well lately, and that he was busted two years ago accepting hush money. He also tells them that he doesn't want to tell anyone about the whole thing, because it's too embarrassing. The other group member, a journalist, is also in town, and she's also on the same tour as the other group. The tour guide tells the journalist that she looks familiar, but that they've been so late that they haven't seen her yet. The journalist is shocked that the group hasn't yet seen her.
