In this chapter, we learn that the switch demon continues to torment the protagonist, who has lost all hope of ever seeing his real mother again. He wishes that he could see a meteor shower and wishes that his mother and han could live happily together. He also hears that the meteor shower will take place on the 20 th of December, so he decides to go and see it with his mother. He tells his mother that he will find his biological mother on that day. She tells him not to hurt the innocent victims, and he tells her to put down the railing and not to kill the innocent people. The protagonist tells us that he believes that the real demon has turned everyone into a switch demon, and that this is the key to the case. He says that the five victims were all killed by the same person, which is why they were trapped in the trap of thinking the murderer was a single person. The switch demon used the method in the note to confuse them, and it made them think that the murderer wasn't one of five people that didn't receive a switch. In the end, he says, the demon killed the first victim , sent the second victim to kill himself, and then sent the third victim to die with the rest of the group. He concludes that the demon has destroyed his soul and that he cannot live in the world anymore.
