He's bummed that he hasn't found the one he's been looking for, but he can't stop thinking about how lucky he is to have such a lovely woman as his wife. The narrator tells us that his mom raised him to love flowers, which is why he seems so happy when he sees her. He tells her that if she had even a tiny bit of left in her hand, she'd have a lot of germs and bad bacteria.
