The next morning, Roxane and the prince go to the flower shop to buy some souvenirs. Roxane is surprised to find that the prince has returned, and she is glad that he is still there. She tells him that she thought he had left the day before, and that she is sorry to disappoint him. She says that she had always thought that she would make him her inheritor, and had tried to teach him everything she knew, but it was not until he left that she was able to make him the artist she wanted him to be. She asks him to take with him a jar of flowers that she has made for him, and he agrees, saying that he has always wanted to make her his inheritor.
