About This Chapter
The narrator tells us that he's been thinking about his mom all this time, but he doesn't know how to react to the news that she's leaving him. He's worried that she might abandon him, and he wonders how she could have left him behind. He also wonders how he'd know that she was leaving him behind, since she never leaves the house before. When she came home, he says, she bid her dad good by, and that's how she got along with the new guy. The narrator then tells us about the new girl he wants to meet. She's called Hitoshi, and she wants to get married to him ASAP. He asks her if she thinks that she broke up with her dad so that she could get to know him better. She says no, and then she tells him that she has a fight with her boy friend, who's running away from the house. She asks him if he likes him more than she does, and when he says yes, she asks if he wants her to be by his side.
