Lu is wounded in the chest by the vampire's silver sword. He begs Lu to save him, but the vampire refuses. He tells Lu that if he lets him go, he'll kill him. Lu tells him that he has to become a vampire, and that's just the price he's going to have to pay for joining the clan. Lu begs him to go back to Shanghai first. He's worried that the vampires are going to kill off his friend, and he wants to make sure that it doesn't happen to him. He wants to find him first so that he won't have to deal with the consequences of his actions. He also wants to know if they're planning to kill him off, so he can check out the place where he was taken. He can't believe that he was the one who took him away, and so he wants him to stay alive.
