The chapter opens with a soliloquy by the Governess, in which she tells the audience that she is madly in love with her lover. She tells him that she has been waiting for ten years for him to come back to her, and that she finally got to meet him again. The Governess tells her that it has been ten years since they last saw each other, and she asks him what is up with the girl. He says that the girl is crazy about the students and that he cannot let her stay there any longer. He tells her to go away from the students. He also tells her not to worry about her crush, because the more beautiful things are the more dangerous they are. She asks him if he leans into the tiger, and he says that he is not a dangerous person. He warns her that the paper tigers are about to attack, but she says that she will not be held responsible for any harm that she may have
