About This Chapter
This chapter's epigraph is from a story about a magical beast that's about to crash through the sky city. The narrator tells us that the monster is right underneath the city, and that he's going to send his men to kill it. He also says that he heard that it's around this time of year for the arbitrators' exam, so he wants to hurry up and get the civilians out of the way. He's also worried that this is going to cause more earthquakes, since the gravitational pull is so strong. He wonders why he can't sense the beast's aura, and the narrator tells him that the beast has just come from the underground. He says that the aura of the beast is about the same level as a great swordmaster. He then tells the narrator that the ground is starting to break apart, and it would be dangerous if they didn't get out of there. He tells everyone to run, and they do. They don't have a chance against the beast, because the ground's breaking apart. They're not strong enough to fight it, but they've got the power to block it.
