The protagonist, Haruka Tanimoto, is 32 years old and has just returned from a long day at work. He is in love with a girl who works for the same company as him, but she has left early because she has a baby. Haruka tells him that the next-door neighbor's daughter is getting married and that she will be coming home soon. He tells her that the company's son is coming to work for the company, and Haruka is curious to see him. She tells him to knock on the door of the office where the son works, and he does so. He then goes to the school where he used to go, and finds out that the boy who works there is the same boy who is in Haruka's class.
