In this chapter, we are introduced to Mr. Qu'an and his son, Mr. Shu'an, who have not seen each other in many years. They are now living together in a small apartment in the middle of nowhere. They have not spoken for many years, and they haven't been in contact with each other for a long time. They tell each other that they are very ill, and that they need to take care of themselves. They decide to meet in the evening in the small apartment, and Shu says that he will not make any mistakes in the future, because he loves his son very much. He tells him that he loves him very much, and he promises him that no matter what happens in the past, or what has come before, he will always love him. He says that eight years ago, when they first met, his mother died unexpectedly, and his father died from depression. He also tells Shu that he was afraid that Shu would commit suicide if he knew of the depression, so he didn't tell Shu the truth of what had happened. Shu then shows Shu the apartment where he now lives, where he and his family live. Shu asks Shu if he also lives in the apartment, but Shu says he doesn't, because it's too big for them to live in.
