Back at the school, the principal tells Zillah that Cai's injuries are not life-threatening, but that the flow of her magic is in "abnormal disorder." He advises her to rest up and not to take her powers too seriously, as it is normal for new recruits to have trouble controlling their powers. He also tells her that the family's "irohriku" industries are all that Cai has, and that she can't use standard medical procedures to treat her injuries. The principal and his wife decide to take Zillah on a field trip to a lake in the Southern Forest, where they can observe him in action
