In this chapter, the narrator muses on his visit to the university. She asks him to show her the bottle of wine that she has brought with her. He tells her that he has lost the key to the room and that she should take a nap. She tells him that she is humbled in the baby room and asks him if something has happened between him and the Jew. He says that he can tell a lie when he hears it, but that he should straighten up a bit more. She says that she will probably lose her way at the university and that this will keep her on her way to enlightenment.
