Caruh, England. The 1880s. Chapter four childhoods. Caruh asks what his son is doing there. He says he's writing a silly book and wants to know if Damien and Desdemona like it. Damien says she's too thin to eat a pastry, but Caruh tells him to eat it. He tells her that his son wants her and Damien to go to Paris with him and his brother to show off their new clothes.
