About This Chapter
In this chapter, Dr. Bledsoe's daughter, Meg, reveals that the children were raised by her father, but that they were not hers. She wonders where her father has gone, since he has not been seen for nine nights, and she wonders where she and the others are going. She says that she has a feeling that they are going to be transported to another world, where they will be reunited with their muses. Meg asks why the bottles are scattered all over the place, and the girl says that it's because they belong to her half-sister, who was a student at the university where she was raised. She also says that her father used to beat her in chemistry class, and that she misses him terribly. She tells him that she feels bad for her parents and everything, but she has proof that life really works.
