In this chapter, we learn that the previous owner of the bakery was a mysterious man, but that he was the master of austin. The previous owner was attached to william, and now william is attached to another mysterious man. We learn that william has revenged against the smith family, and that this man was the predecessor of william's current master. We also learn that a reward of one million dollars is being offered for the capture of alice smith. This is the first time we've heard of the reward, and we're not sure what to make of it.
