About This Chapter
Now that all the people have returned to the core, they're waiting for the etherow and the emperor to kill each other. The narrator tells us that the teachings of the core are a lie. The core world doesn't exist, the narrator says. The only people left in the world are the people who committed wrongs in the first place. They're the ones who will be erased forever. The emperor had no choice, he says, but to fire at him even though he knew he wouldn't hit him. He's now at the halfway point of the capsule, and he can see that the capsule is going to smash into the crust of the aposimx. He says that the whole of the surface will be dust, and that the emperor would never put the capsule in danger. If the emperor had the power to protect the people, then she would have done so already. The first future that he saw was the future of darkness, where he would have been killed by a different candidate. After that, the future would be pitch black darkness, and the people would be waiting in safety. Now, all the residents of the outer world are sharing the same scene, and they all want the same thing: to live in the core world. But they don't understand it, because it's so dark.
