This chapter opens with a description of a "machine clump" . It's a huge structure that's made up of a bunch of different kinds of machines. It looks like they're all taking off from different bases in the northern part of the empire. This is a big deal, because it means that the empire needs to get rid of some of these machines, which are loaded with tons of stuff. It turns out that the cargo on these machines is mostly women and children, which means that there's nothing they can do to help them. The only thing that can help is to go after the people who've been killed by the machines. The first person to come up with a solution to this problem is buga, who tells the guys that his town has been taken over by the re-enactors. He tells them that the people of his town have been "ab ducted" , and that they've loaded all of their belongings onto a "bundoki" with nothing but a bullet. He also tells them to take a hot bath with the "ether kinkow" of the "white diamond beam" because he's afraid that the machine guns will destroy his gun. The guys agree to help him, and buga tells them how much better he is than when he was "fleshia's" arm. He's got a lot of blood on his arm, and he can barely move. He asks the guys to hurry back to his town.
