In this chapter, we learn that humans can be transformed into "regular" forms. For example, wasabu can fly, and keisha can use an electric shock device. We learn that the train has stopped for a while in a city called Rutohmero, and that there is a new outbreak of "frame disease" that has left the city in ruins. The Imperial Guard has sent a message to all the residents of the city telling them to get to the underground and wait for the ship to come back. The ship is still there, however, and the Imperial Guard is trying to shoot down a "man-made" projectile, but it is too late. The Holy Relics search squad has come to the rescue, and they have found the source of the disease. They need to get back to their mission.
