This chapter opens with a flashback to the beginning of the previous chapter, where Nemo explains that he is on his way to school. He tells Nemo to close his eyes and close his mouth, because he is going to burn his clothes. He also tells Nemo that he can destroy his clothes at any time. Nemo asks if anyone is home, and when he hears a bump on the ground, he runs to investigate. He finds a warehouse, where he can pick up the bodies of the dead merfolk. He asks Nemo why he has to kill them, and Nemo replies that he never wanted to do it, but if he doesn't, all the other merfolk will not be able to return home. He then explains that they need to destroy the magical creatures because they are enemies.
