This is a locked chapterChapter 1 Six Years Since the Last Mystery
About This Chapter
The chapter opens with a flashback to six years ago, when Hiroshi and his friend, Chito, were on their way home from school. Hiroshi is holding a snowball, and Chito asks him why he's holding it. He's worried that he'll get lost, and he tells him that he came to meet his mother, who's waiting for him at the other side of the road. The two of them chat for a bit, and then Hiroshi tells Chito that his mother is his real mother, and that she's the one who got lost. He tells her that he doesn't like his cousin, and she says that's okay, because it's good for a girl to come down when she needs a break. She asks if there's anything else she needs to buy, and Hiroshi says that there is a home improvement store nearby, but he'd need to walk about 20 minutes to get there. He asks if he can buy her some food, and when she says no, he tells her to show her around the neighborhood. He says that he can treat her to some food if he buys her a donut, and they talk about how cool it is to be out in nature, and how time passes slowly. They say that they used to be in the same middle school class, and now that they're out in the real world, they can meet each other.
