In this chapter, we learn that kotoko is still alive, and that he's not afraid of the consequences of his actions. He's just worried about what rikka will do next. He wants to speak to her alone, and he doesn't want her to know what's up with him. He tells her that he won't be able to kill her without her warning. He says that if he had the chance, he'd kill him without hesitation or regret. He also says that she wouldn't have been afraid of him if he hadn't given her the power to do whatever she wanted. She didn't even ask for it, he says, and she's still alive because of it. He asks her to come over to his side, so that he can maintain the order. She's halfway outside of the order, but she'll still have her power. She can still be a human, he tells her, if he can figure out a way to make her both human and keep the monsters' trust in him.
