In this chapter, we learn that Damien's birthday is coming up, and he's a little worried that his old friend isn't up to the task of being a good boy friend. Damien tells us that he has been getting a little electro-headed lately, and that he'd like to try his hand at making his own tofu. He's always made his own, he says, in order to make sure that it doesn't get eaten by the people who live in the area where it's made. He also tells Damien that he is his boyfriend without a doubt, and Damien is surprised that he hasn't said anything about his boyfriend's comments. He says that he can't tell if Damien says too little or too much, because he doesn''t know what Damien would say if he didn't say too much. He then asks Damien to give him an honest opinion of his tofu, since he'll never be able to stand it, even if he comes from a good family. He goes on to say that the tofu is "a type of monster," and that adults eat it all the time, especially if they're grown up. He adds that he wishes Damien could grow up to be like him, so that he wouldn't have to eat the same thing every day, and then he could make his own kind of tofu, too. She says that she's only trying to help Damien out, but that she wants to help him out by offering him a wide variety of things to eat.
