In this chapter, the monster explains that he feels the warmth of the man's hand, and that he can help him in conquering the world. He wants all of the monster's body and soul, but only this man is willing to help him. He feels so isolated that he doesn't even want to let a man lift him up. He just wants to use his skin to trade a little " fictitious warmth" for a bit of "real" warmth. The monster tells the monk that he saw Mr. Lu and Mr. Pescar in his dreams, and he thinks that they are the same entity. The monk tells him that Pescar hasn't told him anything in a long time, so he's not sure what to do with the mask. He tells Pescar to look at him, because Pescar is only "attractive person" , and the monk flatters him.
