Unaware that ghosts cannot do anything for her, Ungolad returns to find that she has caught a bite from the kunono. She tells the ghost that she is very sorry for the wound, and that she will take him to the hospital to get it checked out. The ghost tells her that he will stay with her for the rest of her life, and she kisses him.
