Back in Chapter 33, the narrator is overjoyed to be home. He asks the narrator to take a bath with him, but the narrator refuses to take off his clothes. The narrator tries to squeeze his belly to get the clothes off, but he is overcome with emotion. He tells the narrator that he loves him and wants to go home right away. He kisses the narrator on the lips, and the narrator says that he is afraid that the kiss is going to end. He wants to protect the narrator from anything that is afraid of him.
