The chapter opens with a conversation between King Lee and his daughter-in-law, Eun-Jung Lee. Lee asks his daughter to sign a contract with the Hengshun company, but she refuses to do so because of a strange clause in the contract that says that if the company fails to meet certain standards, the company will pay the company three times the amount of liquidated damages. Lee tells his daughter not to sign the contract, as it will only get her into trouble with the company. He tells her to leave the contract with him, as he has already printed it and plans to study it later. He then tells her that the other contract was stained accidentally, and that he will take it with him when he leaves the room for dinner
