After graduating from college, Nick gets a job near his mother's house. She's sick, but she doesn't have to work so she can stay home and be with her kids. He leaves his job and goes home to be with his mom. He tells his mom that she's finally learned her lesson and that she should pay for her education. He also tells her that he went to see a doctor who was very kind to his mother and who never charged him for his medicines. He's so grateful.
