In this short scene, we are introduced to the characters of Cymbeline, Tibby, and Tibby's son, Kelvin. We are told that the three of them have just returned from a trip to the Galapagos Islands, where they met a young man named Hainan. The young man, who we are told is named "Hanan," is a friend of the young man's father, who is a doctor. Hainan tells the young men that his mother is pregnant, and the three young men agree to meet him at the next port of call.
