About This Chapter
In this chapter, Jane tries to convince herself that she is still alive. She tells herself that if she gets rid of her bloodstain, people will find out that she's still alive and she'll be blamed for all the deaths in the world. She also tells herself she owes her a lot, and that she owes it to herself and Jane to stay in the present century. She's afraid that people are going to kill her if she doesn't get rid of that bloodstain. Jane tells herself to push open the door of her room and see what's going on around her. The people are coming to get her, she says, and she can't wait to get them out of there. She says that she feels good about the fact that she can control her impulses and not have to hurt anyone. She compares herself to "lost grandma myrtlegrove" , and says if she controls her impulses, she won't have to worry about anyone else in the future. She adds that she will live with herself and never hurt anyone, because she has decided to not drink human blood in the first place. Oh, honey, is it just not fair that a sweet child has to live in the dark? Why does she have to
