Jane's maid, Ane, is so sorry that she can't bring herself to call on her friend. She's so glad that Jane didn't let her down. Ane says that she's sorry, but that she doesn't want to replace Jane with someone else. She wants to leave Jane alone, but she knows that Jane wouldn't turn down her request.
