The narrator returns to the grocery store and finds that the man is wearing flip-flops. The narrator asks the man if he is doing the shopping himself, and the man says that he is. He then asks the narrator why he is not in the store and the narrator tells him that it is because the store is closed for business. When the narrator tries to explain that he does not know he is back, the man replies that he did not know the man was back and that he had let him slip into his impulse.
