In this chapter, we are introduced to the sixteen-year-old wan. He is a wanderer who is chased by demons. He explains that the place is too strange for him to be chased by them. He tells the crow that he finally knows the missing link between him and the demon. He says that even though he has part of the same pedigree as the demon, his thuds are purer than the demon's. The only thing worth worrying about, he says, is that the demon soul is "incomplete right now. He coughs and says that his injury has gotten worse. He asks the crow if it will bring peace.
