This chapter's epigraph comes from a conversation between Ren and Ren's servant. Ren tells Ren that he's recovered his spirit powers, and Ren asks Ren to help him investigate the memories of another soul in Little Wandering's body . Ren is shocked to learn that the other soul is the one who possessed Little Wandering, but Ren insists that he is not allowed to do anything to the other's memories. Ren then asks Ren if he can bring the original Host back into his own memories, so that Ren can investigate his own. Ren says that he wants to prove that Ren is a direct person, not a jokester, and that he doesn't want to be a part of the joke business.
