In this chapter, the monster explains how he can use the bat to get to the castle. He explains that he can transform himself into a bat, throw a stone at the end of a catapult, and then follow him. The monster then explains that they must go through the castle as fast as they can to prevent accidents. He then explains how they can see the portraits of Isabella and Lehman in the castle and how he cannot let them go alone. He begs someone to save him.
