The narrator tells us that he's been invited to stay with xiaoxiun's family. He's so excited that he can't believe that they're not asking him to come stay with them. He thinks that this is because jiannan is such a bad influence on him, and that he has become so afraid of people's minds that he wants to confirm his suspicions. The narrator goes on to say that she's going crazy because of this, too. She thinks that the uncle's wife is going to come and check on her room, and she thinks that her electric oven is still cooking flatbreads. Finally, she realizes that she has to hide her rice cooker, curling iron, vacuum cleaner, electric baking pan, electric oven, and all of her other household appliances. She wonders why she is giving her this "cute grannie" instead of her "little hubby" . She says that she saw the two of them interact with each other earlier in the day, and wonders why they are so different. She also wonders why xiaozen doesn't tell her the truth about how miserable he was in high school, and why he didn't say the same thing about how happy he was when he was younger. He says that he will still believe the truth even if people don't think he is capable of it. He also says that this reminds him of their first meeting, when they were children. He tells her that he grew up meek and timid, but that he returned to his "normal self" when he met her. He asks her to close her eyes and read their memories, and then he'll take her back in time
